#LetsTalkCRS – Moving patients to the forefront in CRSwNP Care
On the 20th of April 2023, EUFOREA is launching its 2nd annual CRSwNP (Chronic Rhinosinusitis with Nasal Polyps) Awareness Day taking place in Brussels, Belgium. It is a groundbreaking initiative created by EUFOREA in 2022 aiming to improve care for patients with CRSwNP.
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a chronic inflammatory condition of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Symptoms include nasal obstruction, smell dysfunction, continuous nasal discharge and facial pain – all of which profoundly affect a patient’s quality of life. Improving the care of these patients is paramount in EUFOREA’S mission.
The aims of this campaign are:
- to raise awareness of CRSwNP and its comorbidities (including asthma & atopic dermatitis) and to look at its impact on quality of life,
- to encourage healthcare professionals to learn more about how they can improve outcomes for patients through improved diagnosis, treatment, and referrals to specialist care,
- and to educate patients on the symptoms of CRSwNP so that they can seek appropriate care in the management of their disease.
In this episode, EUFOREA invited Prof. Peter Hellings, Founder and Chairman of EUFOREA, and Tonya Winders, President of GAAPP (Global Allergy & Airways Patient Platform), to discuss the important need for partnering initiatives like this one created by EUFOREA.
