GARD – A WHO initiative

The GARD (Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases) is an alliance by WHO that aims in improving the status of chronic respiratory diseases in the world. At the moment, the big challenge is chronic respiratory diseases do not get the same attention as other non-communicable diseases (such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes), so it is important to make sure in GARD that this is changed rapidly, as the burden of respiratory diseases is very high.

These interviews with Nils Billo (WHO), Jean Bousquet (GARD former Chair) and Arunas Valiulis (European Academic of Pediatrics in GARD) were recorded during GARD 2017, in Brussels, Belgium (November 2017).
