What do policy makers need to do to improve public health in Europe?

There is a need for public authorities to support initiatives in precision medicine because they should realize that precision medicine is the way forward in the future. It will be associated with the prevention of disease with patient satisfaction and with the huge reduction of socio-economic cost. It is known that Healthcare Policymakers always look at the short term view; looking at the cost of the treatment today compared to the alternatives, however, these diseases have a lifelong history and it is vital to think about the cumulative costs over a lifetime for the patient both in terms of the costs and side-effects of a relatively cheap treatment compared to potentially a higher initial cost of more expensive treatment.
